I was born in Blakes Maternity Home in
Gosport and Gosport has been my home ever since. After
leaving the sixth form I did several jobs, before finding my
niche in Computers. From the 80s until 2004 I worked in the
Computer Games Industry, firstly as a programmer working on
games such as R-Type and Stargate and then in management
roles that took me the length and breadth of the country as
well into Europe and the States.
I have been lucky enough to work with
some of the best computer games professionals in the
computer games industry, not just the best in this country,
but the best in the world. People that led the way in
computer games and I learnt a lot from my time with them.
Experience that gave me an insight into the sort
of atmosphere a town needs to create to attract and nurture
technical innovation.
After 20 years of working in computers, I decided it was time for as change. I had always been interested in running a pub, My wife, Lorna, having played for Hampshire, and myself knew a lot of people of the local darts circuit, so a local community pub that was big on darts etc. was what we were looking or and we found it in The Foresters Arms and we have been here ever since.
Whilst at The Foresters Arms, a pub that is heavily involved not just with sports, but also with the local community, I renewed an interest in politics and being a natural Liberal, I joined the local Liberal Democrats and I am proud to have been elected twice as a local councillor, serving Brockhurst ward.
In 2010 I was chosen to stand as the Liberal Democrat candidate for Gosport and having increased the vote for Liberal Democrats and pushed Labour down into third. I am proud that once again been chosen as their candidate for the 2015 general election.
